Contemporary Burmese Art: Ideas and Ideals
Co-sponsored with the New York Open Center , Interfaith Center of New York, & ACC (Asian Cultural Council)
This event provides a unique opportunity for the Burmese artistic community to show the full range of their work. Emphasis is upon contemporary Burmese art as it is happening now and its diverse manifestations—spiritual, political and cultural. Seventeen Burmese artists will display their painting, photography, sculpture, performance and video art, and documentary films. The evening includes a presentation about Burmese art by Sandi Tun and discussion with many of the artists.
